Three Stories Of Permanent Cosmetics

Sarah W. was 30 years old when she became interested in permanent cosmetics. “At the age of five, I developed extremely dark freckles on my very pale, almost colorless lips. This, in turn, made me quite self-conscious. People, particularly other children at school, would always tease and torment me about my freckles. As a result, I became a very introverted person. I stayed in all the time; I didn’t like to go out, socialize, or do things. I spoke to numerous permanent makeup artists regarding my issue: dark freckles on pale lips. All of them told me that either it was impossible to do anything for me or that I would have to color the rest of my lips the same color as my freckles, which would essentially make my lips a dark brown, almost black color, which, of course, I didn’t want. I was disheartened but continued looking. Eventually I connected with Carmella. After seeing my pictures and speaking with me, Carmella felt confident that she could help me, and we set up an appointment. After an in-person consultation and a couple of sessions of permanent makeup, Carmella was able to successfully camouflage my freckles, define my lips, and give my lips a natural, youthful, pink color!

I would have to say that my lifestyle changed quite drastically after I had the procedure done. I have confidence to go out, try new things, meet new people. I told Carmella this, and I will tell you as well: Carmella didn’t change my life, she gave me my life back! Carmella is, quite simply, a sweet, caring, and talented artist! And I would recommend her to anyone and everyone, whether you’re interested in permanent makeup itself or if you have a perceived flaw that you’re self-conscious about, go see Carmella; she will give you an honest and compassionate assessment and a wonderful permanent makeup experience.”

Emily Kook is approaching her 40th birthday feeling like she’d lost her identity. As a stay at home mom to two young boys she explained “I kind of let myself go”.

“In my opinion, being a mom is one of the best jobs in the entire world! There is nothing more fulfilling than being a full-time mom to my sons, Carlos & Ryan. But despite its many perks, it can also be very demanding. I am constantly on-the-go, and the majority of my time is spent in yoga pants, chasing after two toddlers with my hair in a ponytail and no makeup on my face. At 40-years old, my days of looking & feeling good are pretty much over . . . or so I thought.”

She’s describes herself as conservative and not the type of woman who spends a lot of money on her appearance. “I have suffered from rosacea since I was 14 years old and therefore, have always been very self conscious about my appearance. But as I’ve grown older, one of the things that has bothered me the most when I look into the mirror is the condition of my eyebrows. To say that my eyebrows were virtually non-existent prior to meeting Carmella was an understatement. In addition, my eyes appeared tired and sunken in. No matter how hard I tried, I could not seem to apply the right makeup to enhance my eye area. Eventually I just gave up, and found myself wearing sunglasses & hats to hide my insecurities.”

One day, Emily was sitting in a doctor’s waiting room. She found herself staring at another waiting-patient’s eyebrows. “They were the most beautiful eyebrows I’ve ever seen!” Not being the type of person to approach a stranger, she felt compelled to compliment this woman. “Oh thank you! But I can’t take credit for them, they’re not mine nor did I draw them in, Carmella permanently tattooed them on!” And with that Emily booked an appointment at The Permanent Cosmetic Studio that same day.

“I didn’t even get anything done the first time I was there, I just had a consultation with Carmella and I have been on a high ever since. The women at The Permanent Cosmetic Studio do more for their clients than just makeup and skin, they change lives by how they make their clients feel. They spent so much time with me and I felt how much they cared about me” Emily choked out.

“First I got my eyebrows done, then I came back for my eyeliner. My friends and family were as shocked as I was that I had actually gone through with the procedure but now they can’t believe how great I look and are also booking appointments with Carmella. More importantly getting this procedure has improved my family! I am happier because I feel like a woman again and my whole family feels it. My husband continues to compliment me even after years of marriage, I feel like I’m hanging out with my boyfriend again! I just can’t explain in words how indebted I feel to Carmella and the women at The Permanent Cosmetic Studio. They gave me the best 40th birthday present I could have ever asked for, they gave me my life back and I couldn’t be more excited to start the next chapter in my life.”

Cheryl Dehart was doing research on Permanent Cosmetics when her 80-year old mother told her she wanted to get her eyebrows and eyeliner permanently tattooed and said all of her friends and some well-known people of status in the area all go to Carmella at The Permanent Cosmetic Studio. “I booked a consultation to talk with Carmella about helping my mother, I had zero intentions of getting anything done myself. I am a confident 51 year old woman with a successful career. I grew up with four brothers and a dad who always told me I was beautiful and I didn’t need to wear makeup. I even did some modeling when I was younger. I didn’t feel that I needed makeup. The only thing I ever do is wear mascara which takes me forever because I’m so uncoordinated.

When I met with Carmella, I was surprised how much time she gave me. Talking with Carmella was like talking with an old friend, in fact, I got choked up with how honest she was with me. “You’re gorgeous Cheryl, but your washed out” she told me, so I decided to see what Carmella could do for me. She happened to have a cancellation that afternoon and I trusted her enough that I let her tattoo my upper and lower eyeliner AND my lips! I was too scared to do my eyebrows (which is what Carmella wanted to do the most) so she dyed them to show me what they would look like without the long-term commitment.

I almost got into a car accident on the way home because I could not stop looking at myself in the mirror. I was freaking out, thinking to myself, what did I just do?! When I got home, my cleaning lady looked at me and said “Oh my gosh Ms. Cheryl, you made yourself up today, you look FANTASTIC!” My husband loves how I look and I get compliments at work on a regular basis. People just think I’m wearing makeup, when I tell them I got tattooed, they always ask where!

A few days later I called Carmella and said, that’s it, let’s do my eyebrows. I think Carmella was more excited than I was! Of course, Carmella was right, I was washed out. Doing my eyebrows makes me look 10 years younger. I’ve never been so happy! I do nothing! I roll out of bed and I’m done!

I was skeptical about permanent cosmetics. I know you can’t be perfect and I’ve never wanted to look like a barbie, but I feel pretty, I don’t feel fake. I feel womanly and I don’t know why I didn’t do this earlier!

Carmella brings women together by empowering them, and permanent cosmetics is a lot cheaper than plastic surgery!” Cheryl joked.
