Now past the ten-year mark in business, I find myself looking at things very differently from when we first began. Not only am I more aware of the worth and the value that we bring to our clients and      followers, I’m also more expansive in my thinking regarding the impact and influence we bring to the marketplace.

As business owners, it’s important for us to realize that the contribution we make to the entrepreneurial ecosystem has the potential to benefit and bless beyond the parameters of our own backyard.  Yet if we don’t start here, engaging those around us in our immediate circle of influence, we’ll miss out on a tremendous opportunity for growth.

Marketing, then, must be more than promoting and peddling our wares. It has to be built on relationships, fostered and cultivated over time, as products and services intersect with needs and wants.  A solution to a problem.  An answer to a question.  A remedy for an ailment.

Making an impact on others goes far beyond first impressions, handshakes and a cursory exchange of business cards.  What we stand for or represent is our calling card.  How we’re viewed and perceived is our brand.  What kind of impact are you making?  Are you building bridges and forging bonds of trust? The consistency, confidence, care and concern we exude becomes a message far beyond that of a social media post or email message.  We can make an enormous impact right here and the return on that investment of time, energy and effort on behalf of those in our community, will bring dividends like waves as we build our social capital and currency.

“What you do has greater impact that what you say.”   – Stephen Covey

The influence we have is a combination of what we’re sharing, doing and being.  We’re creating a body of work and it is making its mark, especially with those who most need the message we’re bringing. Are you clear on who you’re trying to reach?  Does the message match their needs? Your expertise and knowledge, coupled with your dedication to making sure you’re attentive to their needs, cements you to your tribe.

“Having influence is not about elevating self but lifting others.”  -Sheri Dew

“The key to successful leadership is influence not authority.”   – Ken Blanchard

We cannot sidestep the critical components of engagement and presence and expect to yield a profit.  Presence precedes profit. Investment in others equals investment from others. In today’s world, where we’re each being vetted all day long, it behooves us to be authentic, approachable and accessible, delivering our highest and best, making an impact, and being a positive influence in the lives others.

“If you want to change your bank account, change people’s lives.” #bossbabe™

Clout is not obtained in a vacuum.  We have to prove our worth and then deliver with excellence.   That’s how we make an impact.  It’s how we      become influencers, and as we bring our gifts and strengths to those we’re called to serve, it’s how we make an incredible income.

“As a passionate holistic Massage Therapist I needed help to put all my social media platforms into place, a couple of years ago. Donna and her team took care of my needs in a very professional way. They listened with empathy, never leaving my business goal out of sight. Donna adapts very quickly to the individual needs for each of her clients and brings them to the next level of their success. I know that out of my own experience, but have had the pleasure of seeing the same success happening for other people, thanks to Donna’s passionate and efficient support.

That still in my mind, I just reached out to the team again. Recently I have had so many changes in my business that I was not sure what direction to put the emphasis on. Donna coached me within a brief meeting toward the right direction! Donna lifted the fog! Thank you so much! Thanks to your help, I am ready for my next professional step up. Donna Duffy and the 3E Marketing Team – you rock!” – Susanna Krueger, Path to Wellness – Massage & Body Work
