Wilmington Women for Good: Making Philanthropy Accessible

By  |  0 Comments

If you have ever donated to a charity, bought Girl Scout Cookies®, or volunteered your time, then you are a philanthropist! But haveyou ever wondered how you could have more impact in your community without having the net worth of the DuPont Family? If so,Wilmington Women for Good is for you! We are a giving circle comprised of women who live or work in Wilmington and share a passion for helping our city thrive.

How It Works

Our grant cycles run quarterly. Donations to the group fund are accepted on our secure website. Members nominate their favorite nonprofits (nonprofits must be registered 501(c)3). Members learn  about the nominees at a Gather and Grant event. Voting takes place on our website. The winning nonprofit receives all funds raised during that quarter.

Flexibility Makes Us Different

Unlike most giving circles, Wilmington Women for Good does not impose any fixed amount of giving, time, or membership fees to join. Our members chose to donate what they can when they can. There is no cost to be a member or attend meetings. However, in order to participate in the nomination and voting process, you must make a donation during that quarter. You also choose how involved you’d like to be. We host various networking and social gatherings throughout the year, but at a minimum, we meet once a quarter at our Gather and Grant event.

JOIN US!

Our next Gather and Grant will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 6-8pm at Ursuline Academy. All are welcome!
