Heather A. Long

Heather Long is proud to be the first female Partner in the Newark office of Kimmel, Carter, Roman, Peltz & O’Neill, P.A., a Delaware personal injury and workers’ compensation firm. As the first female partner in the law firm’s history, Heather has advanced diversity, which enables her to better serve her clients and injured workers in the State of Delaware.  Licensed since 2005, Ms. Long’s practice is focused on assisting plaintiffs with workers’ compensation, personal injury, nursing home negligence, medical malpractice, and premises liability claims.

Heather has a proven track record of attaining favorable results for clients injured as a result of an accident or while on the job. Before she began representing injured plaintiffs, Heather practiced personal injury defense for three years. Because of this experience, she understands how to negotiate with the companies you are up against. She will work diligently to get you the compensation you deserve. Additionally, Heather is a former paramedic, an experience that gives her an edge when handling your injury claims. She knows what questions to ask your doctors, understands medical jargon, and can enter into negotiations armed with the information required to obtain the largest settlement possible for you. Heather is also skilled in the courtroom and has experience arguing before a judge and in front of a jury.

Heather received her B.F.A. with distinction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her J.D. from Widener University School of Law. She is admitted to practice law in Delaware, the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, Pennsylvania, the U.S. Virgin Islands, New Jersey, and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. She is a member of the Delaware State Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, U.S. Virgin Islands Bar Association, the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association, Workers Injury Law Advocacy Group, and Women in the Law. Heather is also an active Coach and Judge in the Delaware High School Mock Trial Program, and has previously coached the Friends, Salesianum and Newark High School Mock Trial Teams.

Liz Brown

Liz Brown PCC has been involved in helping individuals and groups make positive life changes for over a decade. She is a Professional Life Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation and owner of Be Well Life Coaching in Centerville, Delaware. In addition to life coaching, she also holds specialty certifications in Wellness, ADHD and Recovery Coaching. She enjoys being able to offer her clients a full array of coaching services for the many facets of their life. Change can be hard and Liz has a passion for helping her clients grow from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset which allows them to move from stuck to successful.

Driven by the desire to help those in the community with ADHD and those who are recovering from addiction, Liz expanded her business to serve those individuals who are looking to move in a positive direction and overcome obstacles that have been causing a struggle. Empathy, knowledge and sense of humor are part of her coaching style and clients feel welcome and safe. As a life-long learner she enjoys staying on top of the latest evidence-based research to share with clients.

Liz believes in a holistic and strength-based approach to lasting change. Her background includes teaching yoga and fitness classes. This background has allowed her to help her coaching clients who are intimidated by physical movement make the transition that is safe, sustainable and fun! Mindfulness has personally benefitted her life and she likes to share this tool with her clients to help them gain awareness, reduce stress and to make choices that are meaningful to them. She enjoys offering workshops to groups both in her office and for small businesses.

Marcia Stephenson

Marcia Stephenson is currently the Membership and Volunteer Manager for the Delaware Center for Horticulture. She has been with the DCH for 15 years. In this position she has grown the membership and donor base and increased volunteer involvement throughout all aspects of the organization. She manages the Wilmington City Gardens Contest, organizes trips and garden tours, manages the Fall Bulb Sale, books artists for the Center’s art gallery, manages facility rental, and oversees a number of aspects of the Rare Plant Auction®, the Center’s largest fund raising event. She graduated from the University of Delaware in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture with a minor in Art. Prior to moving to Delaware to return to school, she lived in Boston, Massachusetts where she worked as a sales representative for Agfa, a film manufacturer in the printing industry. While living in Boston she became interested in plants and gardening, and community beautification. She and a friend started the Evening Garden Club of West Roxbury in 1996, and began implementing community projects, garden tours, and speaker engagements. It was through this experience with the garden club that led her to quit her job, sell her house, and move to Delaware to return to school to get her horticulture degree. She is married, has a lovely step-daughter, has two Maine Coon kittens, and tends a delightful garden around their home.

Wilson A. Gualpa

Wilson A. Gualpa joins us in the Broom Street Office to assist with plaintiffs’ personal injury cases, including automobile accidents and Workers’ Compensation. Wilson is a graduate of the Delaware Law School, where he graduated with Pro-bono distinction and a Certificate in Trial Advocacy. He is a bilingual attorney that can provide services in English and Spanish and is a current member of the Randy J. Holland Delaware Workers’ Compensation Inn of Court, the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association, and is the Vice-Chair of Law School Outreach for the Multicultural Judges and Lawyers Section of the Delaware State Bar Association.

Wilson has called Delaware home since the age of eight. As a student at Polytech High School, Wilson played football all four years, captaining the team his senior year. Off the gridiron, he found ways to give back to the community by serving as a member of the Kent County Youth Philanthropy Board. His accomplishments on and off the gridiron earned him the Davidson Scholarship Award from the Quarterback Club of Kent County his senior year.

After graduating from Polytech in the fall of 2008, Wilson attended the University of Delaware where he majored in Political Science with a concentration in Public Law. While at the University of Delaware, Wilson continued serving his community as a legislative fellow for Delaware’s House of Representatives. As a legislative fellow he helped draft legislation for the Agriculture, Economic Development/Banking/Insurance/Commerce, and Transportation/Land Use and Infrastructure committees.

He enjoys spending time with his family who reside in Seaford and run their family-owned restaurant. He also enjoys rooting for the Baltimore Ravens and participating in organized basketball and soccer competitions.

Wilson views the representation of plaintiffs injured at work or by the negligence of others as a way to continue to serve the community. He enjoys that his work allows him to help members of the community during one of their most trying and difficult periods of their life.
