Sexual health is a complex interplay of hormonal, physical, and psychological factors and is integral to general wellbeing. With increasing life expectancy and ailments, the prevalence of sexual dysfunction is increasing. Millions of dollars are spent each year on botanicals and pharmaceuticals to alleviate the symptoms but the efficacy and safety of these products is still under question. Platelet-Rich Plasma now offers a safe and long term solution to several such issues. For years, PRP has been used to repair damaged and inflamed ligaments, tendons, and joints. The growth factors in PRP promote healing and regenerate tissue. The same principle is applied to treat sexual dysfunction in men and women.

Priapus Shot® for Men

P-shot® is effective in treating erectile dysfunction (ED) and Peyronie’s disease. It is an office procedure with no downtime.

ED is the most common sexual disorder in men of 40 and older. The condition is underreported and underdiagnosed. Conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, excessive cycling, and prostate surgery can damage nerves, blood vessels, and muscles, leading to ED. P-Shot® repairs the damage by regenerating vasculature and connective tissue, thereby improving erectile dysfunction.

Peyronie’s disease is thought to be of an autoimmune origin. It is characterized by formation of fibrous tissue resulting in penile shortening, narrowing, and curvature. Currently available medical and surgical options are far from producing favorable results and come with their own risks. P-shot® is a non-surgical treatment for Peyronie’s disease. The growth factors released from activated platelets breakdown the scar which is then replaced by healthy tissue.

O-Shot® for Women

Female sexual biochemistry is even more complex and is affected by constant variation in hormone levels related to menstrual cycle, reproduction, and menopause, in addition to physical and psychological factors. These disparities can result in conditions that are not generally discussed during a routine doctor’s visit.

Sexual Arousal Disorder, Dyspareunia, and Vaginal Dryness are successfully treated with O-Shot®. It heals and rejuvenates vaginal and clitoral tissue resulting in an increase in vaginal canal elasticity, tightening, and lubrication; increased arousal, improvement in urinary incontinence and relief from dyspareunia.

O-shot® is also a breakthrough treatment for Lichen Sclerosus (LS). It is an autoimmune disorder mainly affecting the anogenital region. The condition presents with itching, redness, pain, white patches, and in severe cases bleeding. Topical steroids are usually prescribed for symptomatic improvement only and remission rates are disappointing. The O-Shot® procedure promotes complete regeneration of the LS and restores dermal integrity back to normal.

We believe that the body has an innate ability to heal by itself and PRP based therapies resonate with this philosophy. O-Shot® and P-Shot® techniques utilize a calculated quantity of Platelet-Rich Plasma that is injected very precisely to get maximum benefits. No serious side effects linked to PRP have been reported because plasma is derived from one’s own blood. If you are experiencing any of the conditions mentioned here, we advise you to seek treatment to improve your quality of life. At Apollo Health and Wellness, not only do we offer O-Shot® and P-Shot®, but we will also integrate conventional medical care with Integrative Medicine modalities to treat issues related to sexual health.
