Local radio personality, Sky Phillips, came to me last year to solve some of his dental issues. In case you are unaware, Sky is the co-host of the Sky and Christa Morning Show on Delaware’s #1 country radio station 94.7 WDSD. Mazoch_radio_jfm15

Sky, in person, was every bit as friendly, kind, funny and personable as he is on the air. Unfortunately, his teeth were causing him extreme daily discomfort. He had considerable difficulty chewing his food and he hated the way his smile looked. He felt that he had lost his previous speaking voice due to his teeth not meshing properly. That is a major problem when you make your living talking on the radio. Sky’s family and coworkers informed me that he rarely smiled because of the problems with his teeth.

I told Sky that I would try my best. I knew I could make him look better, but regaining his former speech and getting a great functional bite is very difficult. It takes patience, time, thoughtful planning and meaningful communication between my patient and myself. Fortunately, Sky was very open with me about his likes, dislikes and expectations. I was also honest with him about what I could accomplish and that some results may be compromised due to his particular situation. Because he had suffered for such a long time, we accommodated him within a few months.

In the future, we are considering a few implants to increase the stability of his bite. But for now, Sky is comfortable and loving his new smile. His friends at work have told me that he now smiles all the time and is so happy. As with all dental treatment, there is a need for follow up such as professional cleanings, oral cancer examinations, checks for dental decay or other mouth irritations. He realizes that, just as he maintains his car and his home, his mouth and teeth require proper preservation to keep them in good health and working order.

You can see a YouTube video endorsement from Sky on our Facebook page (and like us while you’re there) or on our website. Here’s what he wrote about us for our testimonial book:

I have gone through years of multiple dental procedures and I got to a point where I wasn’t really happy with my smile. I just didn’t think that it did anything for me. And with being in an industry where your smile is everything and people judge so much of you by what you look like, it was so disappointing for me to look in the mirror every day and tell myself,  “I just don’t like my smile.” Dr. Mazoch sat down with me and discussed what I needed to have done and in just a few months she gave me a beautiful ~ healthy smile and I can’t thank her enough! Make an appointment and see for yourself that she is just an amazing dentist!

– Thank You Dr. Mazoch! Sky Phillips, The Sky and Christa Morning Show, 94.7 WDSD Delaware’s Country Station

My dental team and I truly enjoy helping our patients overcome obstacles of fear and financial difficulties.  My office manager has several payment options to offer and explains the ins and outs of treatment; my patient coordinator works to maximize insurance payments and get you scheduled in a timely fashion; my assistants help to make your visits comfortable and stress free and will answer all clinical questions; and I offer the best care of which I am capable and give options for various treatments.
