Delaware’s Nurses are Extraordinary

Whether managing an acute illness or injury, navigating a chronic disease, or improving your health and preventing future illness, nurses are there for Delawareans at every stage of your life. Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses comprise the state’s largest sector of the healthcare workforce with over 28,000 active licenses. Chances are, you’ve encountered a nurse. They work everywhere – hospitals, schools, medical offices/practices, long-term care/nursing homes, assisted living facilities, day programs, rehab centers, state facilities, home health agencies, surgery centers, the list continues.

Recognition, directly from those served by nurses, is the most meaningful way to communicate gratitude and respect for the care received. Take time today, or any day, to say thank you to ANY Delaware Nurse with a DAISY nomination through the Delaware Nurses Association. No matter where your nurse works, we will ensure they are reached and recognized. Share your story of how an individual nurse, or healthcare team with nurses, significantly impacted you or your loved ones’ health. Your story matters. It could be a simple act of kindness that a nurse completed for you or it could be the lifesaving work nurses do every day. Express your gratitude. DNA will do the rest.
