Three of Delaware’s most respected cardiology groups — Delaware Cardiovascular Associates, Cardiology Physicians, and Cardiovascular Consultants of Southern Delaware — have united under a single name: Cardiovascular Physicians of Delaware.

This strategic consolidation, supported by US Health Partners (USHP), marks a major milestone in the evolution of cardiac and vascular care across the state. Together, the practices now form Delaware’s largest independent cardiovascular group, expanding access to advanced, coordinated care for patients throughout the state.

Combining generations of expertise

Each founding practice brings decades of excellence and regional leadership to the new organization:

Cardiology Physicians

Founded in 1994, has been a trusted leader in northern Delaware for more than 30 years, with offices in Wilmington, Newark and Middletown, and privileges at Christiana Care Hospital, Wilmington Hospital and St. Francis Hospital.

Statewide scale and comprehensive services

Together, the groups employ more than 300 Delawareans statewide, including more than 30 board-certified cardiologists and advanced practitioners. Cardiovascular Physicians of Delaware now offers full-spectrum cardiac and vascular care in:

  • General and interventional cardiology

Leading the state in cardiac imaging innovation

As part of its continued investment in technology, Cardiovascular Physicians of Delaware operates the state’s most advanced cardiac PET/CT imaging program, powered by Siemens Healthineers technology. These systems provide unparalleled image quality and diagnostic precision — essential tools for early detection and personalized treatment of heart disease.

Innovation is a cornerstone of US Health Partners’ mission, which prioritizes supporting physician-led groups through access to best-in-class technology, research capabilities and integrated clinical infrastructure. Through these investments, Cardiovascular Physicians of Delaware is setting a new standard for accuracy, efficiency and patient comfort in cardiovascular imaging statewide.

A unified vision for Delaware’s heart health

“By combining our strengths, resources and experience under US Health Partners, we’re ensuring that patients statewide have access to comprehensive, compassionate and technologically advanced heart care close to home,” said Dr. Brian Sarter, president of Cardiovascular Physicians of Delaware.

Ron Issac, senior vice president of operations, Delaware Division at US Health Partners, added, “This unification is exactly what US Health Partners was created to support — empowering independent physician groups to grow and collaborate while maintaining clinical autonomy. Cardiovascular Physicians of Delaware reflects the strength of physician-led care and our shared commitment to innovation and better heart health statewide.”
