The Book of Moses

The Book of Moses is the first novel by  Nathan De La Warr. It explores themes of love, spirituality, and transformation in the violent and unforgiving landscape of the American West during the late 19th century.

Moses has been drifting through the West, burdened by the death of his brother. When he arrives in the frontier town of Sparrow’s Rest, he comes with a single purpose: to claim the land his brother left behind. But the town holds its own secrets, and the land he seeks is not easily won. It is occupied by a strange religious sect led by a man who calls himself a prophet. At the same time, Moses finds himself drawn to Lillian, a woman bound by a past that may be even darker than his own.

With lyrical prose and emotional depth, The Book of Moses is both a Western and a meditation—a story about the ghosts we carry, the love that saves us, and the sacred search for meaning in a brutal world.
