The Power Of Comeback Stories: Why We Rise Again

Ever notice how life loves a good comeback?

Rarely do they make movies about people who are successful and stay successful. There are zero movies based on the life of Warren Buffett. One of the richest men in the world for decades and a decent guy—nada, zilch, a goose egg.

The movies they do make are the comeback stories

How they got to the mountaintop, lost it all, and somehow relit their drive, mounted a comeback.

Why do we love comeback stories?

It is our human nature not to stay down or give up. Have you ever seen an infant who wants to reach for something? They will climb and fall and keep going.

We need to return to our nature, our core.

Yes, no one loves getting knocked down, but guess what? It happens. It is a part of life. You don’t have to love it, but you can’t let those feelings take you over.

I’ve had my fair share of comebacks—business and financial, relationships, health, in every major area of my life. I’ve even had times when all areas were hit.

But after every comeback, I come back stronger, wiser, and more in control of my life.

Comebacks aren’t just stories—they’re who we are

Life is hard and unfair at times. Sometimes you lose. Sometimes you get your butt whipped.

I don’t care. It happens to everyone.

You can’t go all BMW on me—Bitch, Moan, Whine. No one wants to hear that, and it does nothing to help you get out of your current situation. It’s just wasted energy, not under your control.

What you can focus that energy on is your comeback. Your thoughts, words, feelings, and actions are the only thing under your control.

It is your duty and responsibility to yourself and your family to make a comeback. Just remember: the longer you’re out of it, the harder it is to comeback.

I have seen so many of my clients, from all walks of life—once down and nearly out, feeling hopeless and powerless—now surging forward. Instead of saying, “I really should make some changes here,” they say, “What’s next?!!” Now we are talking in my language.

Testimonial

“I met Joe 4 years ago, and I knew from the moment I met him that he could help my son. Aaron struggled with daily anxiety over school and a tough home life. He was often hopeless about life getting any better. I tried so many things, from changing schools to traditional therapy and many different activities and experiences to show him something more; none of them inspired any hope in Aaron. Now that Aaron is thriving working with Joe, he is engaged with life and has dreams and aspirations. He is focused on taking care of himself and his health. Aaron is an inspiration to me and a testament to Joe of what he can do even in the most hopeless of situations. Working with Joe is the absolute best investment I have ever made.”  ~ Melody Kirby
