No one likes a clogged drain. They always seem to stop up at the most inconvenient times – like when you’re expecting dinner guests. To avoid<br />
such untimely mishaps, heed the following tips:<br />
•  Never pour grease down the drain.  Keep a resealable jar under the sink to pour grease in, and then throw it out when it’s full.<br />
•  Once a week, pour a pot full of boiling water down the kitchen drain to help remove any grease that is sticking in the pipes.<br />
•  In the laundry room, be sure to remove lint from the washer so it won’t enter the pipes.<br />

<p>Brian and Robbie Frederick just renewed all of their company business licenses while completing their 2010 business plan. Before being able to purchase or renew a business license in the State of Delaware, the State requires you to show proof of worker’s compensation and liability insurance. On top of that, it is mandatory to purchase state and multiple county, city and municipality licenses to do business in those areas. Brian and Robbie want homeowners to understand how important it is, when hiring a general contractor, to choose one who uses licensed sub-contractors. Licensed sub-contractors must satisfy criteria required by New Castle County (www.nccdelu.org).</p>

Some key details of the program are as follows:</p>
<p>• The tax credits apply to a variety of products (including installation costs such as windows, doors, heating &amp; cooling equipment,<br />
and more).<br />
• The amount of the credit is equal to 30% of the installed cost of the qualifying products, up to a total<br />
of $1500.<br />
• If a qualifying purchase is not large enough to qualify for the maximum tax credit of $1500, the remaining available tax credit can be claimed for additional qualifying purchases.<br />
• The tax credits, unlike deductions, are subtracted directly from the total amount you owe in personal income taxes.<br />
• If you’re planning to take advantage of this tax credit program, you must purchase your qualifying high-efficiency product between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010.</p>

Kivler, an expert in both design and construction, joins Joseph Frederick &amp; Sons with more than 20 years of experience in the residential remodeling construction industry. For the past 10 years, Kivler owned and operated Quality Custom Carpentry, a Delaware home remodeling business.</p>
<p>Homeowners who include plumbing, electrical, and heating/cooling expertise in the initial phases of remodeling can avert design flaws that might not otherwise appear until later in the project. A design might look great on paper, but if plumbing, electricity and climate control aren’t considered in the plan, homeowners can end up with air flow problems or inefficient wiring and piping.
