June has arrived, summer has begun and that means
festival season in Wilmington kicks off this month. As the winter doldrums are shaken away, the city is alive with ethnic celebrations and music events that are sure to get your summer off to the right start! The season of fun begins with the Greek Festival from Tuesday, June 7 to Saturday, June 11.

In just five years, the Wilmington Grand Prix in downtown Wilmington has grown from a regional bicycle race to one of the premiere nationally ranked cycling events on the East Coast and a much-anticipated, free street festival with fun for the entire family. This year, the event will be held on May 20 to 22, and will grow once again—this time into a three-day event.

Although many cities, families and businesses are still feeling the effects of the economic climate, new businesses are opening their doors in downtown Wilmington. Within the past few months, Market Street has become home to multiple new eateries. Included in the mix is Shenanigan’s at 125 Market Street.
