Optimally, we want the fluids in our bodies to have a neutral or 7.0-7.2 pH level. Under 5.3 the body cannot absorb vitamins or minerals; your pH level must be above 6.4 for maximum utilization and weight loss. Urine pH levels should be tested in A.M. prior to eating, drinking, or exercising. Any farmer can tell you that when the pH of the soil is too acidic or too alkaline, crops will become sickly or die. And people with aquariums know that when the pH is off in the water, the fish will die. The same importance of pH is found in the human body An acidic pH creates a hostile internal environment, like a raging storm, making the body struggle to get the nutrients it needs.

It is a unique, highly effective testing of the bio-energetic status of the body’s key organs and glands.
It uses a university proven muscle testing technique of medically accepted reflex points. QRA can quickly pinpoint problem areas to determine the precise nutrients and exact amounts needed to rapidly restore your energy and dramatically improve your health. QRA has the ability to identify and eliminate the “root of the problem”.The practitioners use specific testing techniques to identify hidden infections that may be causing ill health from interference sites from traumas, surgeries, improper eating habits, stress, etc. Your body will actually pick the supplements it needs to restore your health. QRA has helped millions of people heal from many types of diseases.

You will need to make an appointment for this two hour testing/evaluation. Your first morning urine is required for the pH testing. The cost is $75.00, which includes your QRA testing, pH testing, and dietary education. You will receive a copy of your diet and supplement suggestions.

A key factor overlooked in literally every disease is hidden, deep-seated toxicity in the ground substance of the body (i.e. the external meridians and connective tissue) which prevents normal nerve and chi (energy flow). These embedded toxins can mean years of delayed healing – or none at all.

Heather Torbert is Lisa Heather Torbert’s mom. She died at the age of 66 from diabetes. Mom’s life was not easy, as she became addicted to drugs and alcohol in her twenties. She also suffered from depression most of her life. At the age of 40, she finally was able to “kick the habit” forever. However, she substituted into some very unhealthy “other addictions” such as smoking, caffeine, and food addictions (chocolate, sugar and carbohydrates), which eventually lead to her death. This center is dedicated to my mom, Heather, my best friend and special angel. Because of her, we here at Heather’s are able to offer a touch of heaven to everyone that visits our center.

With so much unsettling news these days, much of our country lives in fear, stress and anxiety says Colleen Stone, Certified Hypnotherapist. In working with her clients, Colleen sees and hears similar complaints such as, “I am so afraid …”, “I have so much anxiety that I cannot sleep!”, “My migraine headaches are so much worse” or, “I cannot leave the house without taking a pill!” Colleen believes that core beliefs play a big part in how the mind/body operates affecting our thoughts, emotions and our health. The body can heal itself once the negative energy from these emotions has been resolved and released and Ms. Stone states, “This is what I do everyday….with the use of hypnosis, self-hypnosis and EFT.” In addition, Colleen believes that ENERGY MEDICINE is the medicine of the future…just think if we could resolve and release negative energy before they manifest into an illness!
Look what Dr. Candace Pert has to say in her book, “Molecules of Emotions”, about the power of releasing negative emotions with the use of forgiveness, and how the process actually affects our mind/body, and the immune system:
“Releasing blame requires a quantum shift in which the whole body/mind is altered, a true state change that affects the entire system. It isn’t a small thing that is done by degrees, but a whole-body turnaround. Who you are when you forgive yourself and others is someone living a new reality. You are free and experience true happiness. You can also be healthier; because physical inflammation in your body is diminished, (it is no longer continuously triggered by resentment and rage).
If you experience a constant, suppressed state of anger in your body/mind over many years, holding grudges and not forgiving people for incidents that happened in the past, then you are most likely using energy to make antibodies, and keeping yourself in a chronically inflamed state. As a result, you tax your immune system to overreact, aggravating autoimmune disorders such as Fibromyalgia, lupus, CFS, and rheumatoid arthritis, and many other illnesses.

Colleen’s goal for each client is self-awareness through positive changes in their core belief systems allowing for desired behavior changes, ultimately self-love and reconnecting with the original/true self that is happy, healthy and strong!
Colleen uses a five-step process of one-on-one hypnosis, including one session of Direct Suggestion, and four other steps of letting go and resolving negative emotions including “Forgiveness of Others” and “Forgiveness of Self”. Forgiveness is about no longer having to carry around the pain and anger caused by these negative emotions. This is when the self-healing begins!! Colleen teaches her clients what she has learned after ten years of researching and working successfully with other clients that, “the bottom line to healing is learning self-love and allowing the body to heal itself!” Forgiveness is a gift to self and it is not about the other person.
Self-Hypnosis and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) are two methods of self-healing that Colleen teaches to all her clients, along with the one-on-one process of 5PATH.
Self-Hypnosis is a method of resolving and letting go of negative emotions daily so that they no longer accumulate and manifest into illness. EFT is an amazing healing technique that is easy to learn and has profound effects. It is a simple, rapid and remarkably effective approach to healing emotional disorders that is based on a synthesis of Chinese Acupressure and Applied Kinesiology.
As clients clear away the negative emotions related to the illness, they experience a process of improvement and inner peace and find a transformation of energy for the good. From there many clients use that energy in a positive way to achieve lifetime goals.
I was living partly as an adult and partly as a five-year-old girl. No doctor, psychologist, clinical social worker, mental health worker, drugs, or “talk therapy” was able to help me. Thankfully, with your understanding, compassion, and field of expertise in Hypnotherapy, my life was brought back to normal and continues to be.
In a Thai Yoga Massage session, yoga postures are used with gentle stretching and pressure to open the energy lines. The therapist applies pressure to marma points (a juncture on the body where two or more types of tissue meet, such as muscles, veins, ligaments, bones or joints) along the energy meridians, using her hands, feet and elbows. Together these actions result in a comprehensive, full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances the body energetically.

Melissa began her journey into the healing arts at a young age. She was always fascinated with alternative therapies and medicines that treated the person as a whole rather than treating just the “symptoms”. Melissa soon discovered massage and the ongoing list of benefits that came from it. She knew that was a path she wanted to take. In 2003 she graduated from a 500 hour program at the National Massage Therapy Institute.
Continuing her journey she was privileged to learn the ancient Vedic art of Thai yoga massage which brings together her two loves, massage and yoga. My goal is the same; teach, encourage, equip students to experience and enjoy the Gifts of Dance. Including Physical, Mental, & Social Benefits

A lot of what I write about seems to be about what should not be done. Actually, that is what a lot of horse training is about (Don’t Do’s). If you have read any of my past articles, you probably have realized that we focus more on “being” than “doing” anyhow, but since humans love “doing” things, I figured I would cut you a break and give you something to do this month.

Wiggle those toes!

When riding your horse, 90% of what is communicated should be done by muscle tensioning and relaxing from the pelvis and thighs. In order to see why the little exercise I’m about to describe works so well, let’s play a game! Hold your hand out in front of you. Now stiffen and straighten your ring finger – come on! Put all the tension you can stand, hold it! Keep it stiff and straight – now wiggle your other fingers while keeping that ring finger straight.

How did your wiggle wiggle turnout? This exercise demonstrates your brains inability to communicate thru tension alone. In order to communicate (or for your fingers to wiggle) both relaxation and tension must take place. I think an even better analogy to use to demonstrate this communication through relaxation and tensioning is the art of making music.

Music is an art that closely mimics the communication between horse and rider. To further define music in this analogy we should state that music is the art form of making an agreeable sound thru noise. With a little thought, you can realize what makes a noise agreeable is the silence between the noises.
I have coined the statement that it is the silence between the notes that makes the music! To sum up, a constant noise will most likely be disagreeable, causing the listener (the horse) to become agitated.
Music can and should create the desired cognitive state within the listener (the horse).

Now you should have enough fundamental understanding to realize why you should want to wiggle those toes. It creates the silence (relaxation) that is so important in creation of song (relationship) – whether it’s Classical or Rock, Reining or Dressage – it’s all music!

Toe wiggling allows your muscles to relax and for communication to take place. You do not need to wiggle constantly, just here and there, making sure you’re not agitating. Immediately before a transition and immediately after is always a good idea. My experience has always been (even on the spookiest of horses) that toe wiggling helps horses calm down. Besides, no one will even know what your little piggy’s are doing in those boots so wiggle away!!!

I first met Dean when I was working for an Equine vet. We came out to treat a horse for a simple cut and I remembered being overly impressed with how calm and concerned he seemed to be with this horse. I remember asking a few questions to the vet I was working with – who he was and what he did. I had never seen such happy horses – and at the time, I had a “dangerous” horse that needed to be fixed as his life hung in the balance.

I gave Dean a call a few days later and brought my horse down. Gilbert took to Dean immediately –
a horse that once bucked people off the minute they stepped into the stirrup was calmly letting Dean and his assistant mount and walk around within two weeks. I didn’t fully grasp what Dean had done for Gilbert then. After our sixty day stay – I took him back home. Watching the way they worked with horses and the amazing results they got – I found myself looking at issues I was having with my “well – broke” horses and wondering if my horses were truly being “bratty” or if I was to blame.
I made the decision to bring my horses down to Dean’s permanently – and they are so much happier for it. I can’t possibly describe what it’s like to actually communicate with your horse and be “as one”. My horses are calmer, happier, and so am I. The knowledge I have gained in these past five years has made me not only a better rider – but also a better horse owner. To bring someone a horse that has taken out some of the top trainers in the area – and to see that horse no longer want to buck and hurt someone – not because he has been ‘run down’ or starved – but because he wants to please you and be with you is a feeling comparable to winning the lottery. The sheer enjoyment I have when working with my horses with Dean is something I’ll treasure always and I hope every horse owner gets to experience that kind of relationship with their horse.

Spring is about balance ~ the light and the dark, seeds and hopes that had lay dormant for months are now bursting forth in bright color and newness. As we begin planning and creating our outdoor natural delights, let’s reflect and churn our inner garden ~ our belly, our gut, our sacred soul ~ to be able to live, love and dance our journeys on an optimal level.
The Japanese call the abdomen the “Hara,” the vital center of life. When we are feeling unfocused and off center, what are we really saying? The abdomen holds so many important aspects of our lives – our organs, intestines and digestion processes, our 2nd and 3rd chakra – our sexual selves and our place of power and self-esteem, the aorta and vena cava that bring blood flow to and from the heart, and muscles and fascia that hold everything together. With all these systems operating in one place, it is no wonder we become unbalanced. And with a poor diet, lack of exercise and deep breathing and the feelings of shame and disgust put upon our sweet belly, no matter if it is curvy or flat, this area becomes stagnant and sad. And soon, dysfunction becomes the norm.
We also, on an unconscious level, build up armor around the abdomen. When we do not fully process a trauma in our lives, we push it out of our mind and heart to dwell down in our gut. This further complicates all the wonderful energy and nutrients and flow that our body needs. Center and balance the abdomen and people become more focused and able to direct their lives in a fully functional way.
The Mayan culture and truly all-indigenous tribes used a manual technique of some sort to keep the belly centered. They knew the importance of working to keep our vital centers anchored in good energy flow for greater healing of the individual and the greater good of society.
Tourmaline Body Therapy (TBT), developed by my teacher Mary Anderson, LMT, is an interactive treatment that works to release the rigid imbalances of the belly and other muscles of the body that are directly linked to unresolved issues and past traumas, physical and psychological. She incorporated the ideas of Wilhelm Reich, a 20th century psychoanalyst, who was the first to identify character structure – reactions to the person’s trauma and rejected emotions. These character traits are maintained in place by body armor. These aspects of the personality, unexamined, become rigid states as opposed to flexible choices.
Clients find better range of motion, a detoxifying experience, weight loss, and a true feeling of lightness as toxins and stuck emotional patterns are released. Fertility is enhanced and a lessening of menopause symptoms is reported. As always, each client will have her or his own personal response but everyone leaves

Tourmaline is a gemstone that aids the body in releasing what it no longer needs. It comes in many different colors and varieties, and its use on the body is not only transformative but also inspirational. It is said that tourmaline dispels fear and negativity, calms the nerves, gives inspiration and dispels grief. It brings balance to relationships and sensuality is heightened. It also brings more tranquil sleep and ease to lymphatic diseases. In this special treatment, the tourmaline

Take the time to dive in and you will find that VaihAyasa Aerial Yoga is one of the best ways to find a connection with your body, to build strength and flexibility, and to create space and movement in the body.
Vaihayasa Aerial Yoga allows practitioners to sink into their practice more quickly, to deepen stretches, to find proper alignment naturally, and to reap the benefits of inversions without strain on the joints of the body. You will find that your mind clears, shifting to become open, aware, present.

You don’t have to be young or flexible to do Aerial Yoga. One of the things I love most about teaching VaihAyasa Aerial Yoga is the quick progress that can be seen in students alignment, strength, & flexibility. For instance, Reverse Namaste (or prayer hands behind your back), is a pose that no matter how many times I tried in my regular practice, I was not able to get fully into. The support of the fabric and the space created in my shoulders from my aerial practice helped me fully into this mudra (even without the fabric) within 5 times of practicing it.

Another reason I enjoy Aerial Yoga is that no matter what physical limitations a student may enter the room with (sciatica issues, shoulder strain, broken wrist), there are always adaptations that can be made to allow the student to create movement and space in the body. The ability to surrender into postures makes it the perfect way to create more flexibility naturally, and gives the practitioner a chance to feel support where the body needs it.

Before you leave the house, check the cabinets, frig, and pantry to see which foods you need. Next, plan your menus for the week. Knowing what you and your family are going to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner ahead of time will save you valuable time and money.

That way you will get what you need, and be less apt to purchase items on impulse (which tend to be high in fat, sugar, sodium, and calories). It helps if you organize the list into the different areas of the store (i.e. frozen foods, dairy, produce, canned goods, meats, breads). This is a great way to get the older kids involved by giving them each an area to shop.

If you can, eat a meal before you go, or grab a granola bar to munch on the way.

Foods in the center of the store tend to be more processed then those items found on the outer aisles, such as fruits and veggies, dairy, fresh meats, fish, and seafood.

Don’t be afraid to use canned beans, veggies, and tomato sauce. Just rinse beans and veggies in a colander to remove up to 40% of the sodium, and look for low sodium or no-added salt items.

Some of my favorites include “ShopWell”, an app that lets you customize your food selections based on your gender, age, activity level, like and dislikes, allergies and intolerances, specific nutrients you prefer, and additives you don’t. With “Fooducate”, just scan a product’s bar code with your iPhone, and this app will give you the item’s “grade” (“A” for excellent, “F” for put it back on the shelf!), calories per servings, and quick hits on the product’s pros and cons. “GoodFoodNearYou” allows Android users to find healthy food when they are on the go by using GPS technology; the app identifies your location, and then presents you with the healthiest selections from menus at nearby restaurants.
