Be Happy, Healthy & Strong By Releasing Negative Emotions

With so much unsettling news these days, much of our country lives in fear, stress and anxiety says Colleen Stone, Certified Hypnotherapist. In working with her clients, Colleen sees and hears similar complaints such as, “I am so afraid …”, “I have so much anxiety that I cannot sleep!”, “My migraine headaches are so much worse” or, “I cannot leave the house without taking a pill!” Colleen believes that core beliefs play a big part in how the mind/body operates affecting our thoughts, emotions and our health. The body can heal itself once the negative energy from these emotions has been resolved and released and Ms. Stone states, “This is what I do everyday….with the use of hypnosis, self-hypnosis and EFT.” In addition, Colleen believes that ENERGY MEDICINE is the medicine of the future…just think if we could resolve and release negative energy before they manifest into an illness!

Look what Dr. Candace Pert has to say in her book, “Molecules of Emotions”, about the power of releasing negative emotions with the use of forgiveness, and how the process actually affects our mind/body, and the immune system:

“Releasing blame requires a quantum shift in which the whole body/mind is altered, a true state change that affects the entire system. It isn’t a small thing that is done by degrees, but a whole-body turnaround. Who you are when you forgive yourself and others is someone living a new reality. You are free and experience true happiness. You can also be healthier; because physical inflammation in your body is diminished, (it is no longer continuously triggered by resentment and rage).

If you experience a constant, suppressed state of anger in your body/mind over many years, holding grudges and not forgiving people for incidents that happened in the past, then you are most likely using energy to make antibodies, and keeping yourself in a chronically inflamed state. As a result, you tax your immune system to overreact, aggravating autoimmune disorders such as Fibromyalgia, lupus, CFS, and rheumatoid arthritis, and many other illnesses.

Colleen’s goal for each client is self-awareness through positive changes in their core belief systems allowing for desired behavior changes, ultimately self-love and reconnecting with the original/true self that is happy, healthy and strong!

Colleen uses a five-step process of one-on-one hypnosis, including one session of Direct Suggestion, and four other steps of letting go and resolving negative emotions including “Forgiveness of Others” and “Forgiveness of Self”. Forgiveness is about no longer having to carry around the pain and anger caused by these negative emotions. This is when the self-healing begins!! Colleen teaches her clients what she has learned after ten years of researching and working successfully with other

clients that, “the bottom line to healing is learning self-love and allowing the body to heal itself!” Forgiveness is a gift to self and it is not about the other person.

Self-Hypnosis and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) are two methods of self-healing that Colleen teaches to all her clients, along with the one-on-one process of 5PATH.

Self-Hypnosis is a method of resolving and letting go of negative emotions daily so that they no longer accumulate and manifest into illness. EFT is an amazing healing technique that is easy to learn and has profound effects. It is a simple, rapid and remarkably effective approach to healing emotional disorders that is based on a synthesis of Chinese Acupressure and Applied Kinesiology.

As clients clear away the negative emotions related to the illness, they experience a process of improvement and inner peace and find a transformation of energy for the good. From there many clients use that energy in a positive way to achieve lifetime goals.

Testimonial:

“Dear Colleen, After five long months of suffering with ‘Post Traumatic Stress with Repressed Memories”, I was so thankful that God finally lead me to you. You helped me “rescue that little girl” from the torture that I suffered from childhood sexual abuse that had now surfaced into my adulthood. I was living partly as an adult and partly as a five-year-old girl. No doctor, psychologist, clinical social worker, mental health worker, drugs, or “talk therapy” was able to help me. Thankfully, with your understanding, compassion, and field of expertise in Hypnotherapy, my life was brought back to normal and continues to be.

May God bless you and continue to use this alternative field of medicine to free those who are in mental bondage, and feel there is “No Hope”. ~ In sincere gratitude, CP”

Dr. Michelle Parsons practices Wellness and Cosmetic Medicine in Rehoboth Beach. Graduating from Jefferson Medical College 17 years ago, she is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine after receiving her training at Christiana Medical Center, practicing as an Emergency Medicine Physician in Delaware and Maryland. Enjoying the continuity of care in private practice, Dr. Parsons went on to receive additional training in hormone and endocrine evaluation, vitamin deficiencies, nutrient replacement therapy, and cosmetic medical procedures.

“There is so much to treating the overall health and well being of a person than just addressing their symptoms when an acute illness occurs. I like to focus on what is going on with a person’s health every day. It’s the little things that are really important in the long run. What kind of nutrients we are taking in and how that affects how our bodies and minds work. Another example of how closely our minds and bodies are intertwined was demonstrated in a study that showed how a cosmetic medical treatment, such as a rhinoplasty, can have the same benefit to mood and well being as 10 years of intensive psycho-therapy. Our bodies and minds are very closely related and I really embrace this concept in my practice.”

Dr. Parsons lives in Bethany Beach area with her husband and young son, who is a fifth generation Sussex Countian. Dr. Parsons sees patients in her office in Rehoboth Beach during the week. Appointments can be made by calling 302-227-1079. Now, I could have stayed and they would wrap while I waited, but, hey, I had more fun eating while Lady’s Image did all the work of wrapping. In addition, the gift-wrap was FREE. No HASSLE no STRESS. Just Smiles, Laughs and Fun.

Laser Hair Therapy for Both Men and Women
Finally, a way to enhance the growth of thick, healthy hair that’s all your own.

Evolution of Laser Hair Therapy
This non-invasive technology has been used successfully in Europe for over 10 years and is being hailed today in the United States as a major break-through in combating hair loss. Laser Light Therapy was first tested in Europe over fifteen years ago. It was designed to treat diseases of the scalp and skin.

In 1964, Professor Andre Mester began experimenting with the use of low-power laser energy in Budapest, Hungary. He observed that low energy laser exposure has a stimulating effect on the biological system, while high energy laser exposure had an inhibiting effect.

In his experiments with wound treatment on mice, he noticed rapid healing due to microcirculation of blood supply. This healing was also obvious in laser light treatment of diabetic patients suffering with dystrophic sores. He was amazed to find sores that would not otherwise heal were healed, and he also observed accelerated hair growth and thickening of hair in the treated areas.

Laser Light Therapy
The laser therapy functions on the same scientific principal of that of photo biotherapy; where the laser light stimulates cell metabolism and causes damaged cells to be repaired. This breakthrough technology has recently been featured on national newscasts across the country. Physicians are praising this technology as an effective treatment to combat hair loss. A Low Level Laser Device used to stop hair loss and re-grow lost hair was recently named Time Magazine’s Invention of the Year.

Treatment
Our laser treatment is non-surgical, new and revolutionary. It utilizes therapeutic, low-level laser diodes in the treatment of hair loss as well as other problems of the scalp, and works in harmony with natural hair care products. The result is thicker, healthier hair.
Laser light therapy is not to be confused with the conventional laser. It uses soft (or what is commonly known as cool) lasers, which means there are no thermal components to cut, burn, or vaporize tissue. The use of a soft laser provides a painless treatment experience for the client.
Hair Loss for Women
Long, Esq.

In Delaware, an injured worker is entitled to 7 basic benefits under Workers’ Compensation laws: medical expenses, disability payments for lost wages in the form of temporary total, temporary partial or permanent total disability, mileage reimbursement, scarring and disfigurement benefits, and permanent impairment benefits.

Often, when an injured worker makes a claim for Workers’ Compensation benefits, they will be receiving funds from several of those sources listed above.

Most of the above sources are “pay as you go” types of benefits, where the injured worker gets paid as the benefits are earned. Mileage reimbursement is a great example of this. For this benefit, the injured worker gets paid 40 cents for every mile traveled to and from their doctor appointments. Typically, the worker keeps a log of their mileage and then submits that to be paid every month or so. This way, they get paid for the mileage as the benefits are accrued.

Other “pay as you go” benefits are medical expenses and the temporary disability payments for lost wages. Other benefits, such as the scarring and disfigurement and permanent impairment benefits are paid out in a one time lump sum. Those benefits don’t become earned until some significant time has passed after the injury, and the injured worker has reached “maximum medical improvement.” In other words, the injury is as good as it is going to get.

There may come a time during the course of the work injury claim that either the injured worker or the employer wants to settle either all or part of a claim now, instead of when the benefits become due. This is called a Commutation of Benefits. A commutation of all of an injured worker’s benefits is likewise called a “Full Commutation,” while a commutation of less than all of the benefits is called a “Partial Commutation.”

Commutations can be risky, especially when they are meant to settle either the medical expense benefits or the disability benefits for lost wages because the injured worker is essentially giving up their right to future payments of medical bills and wages for a lump sum amount. The lump sums are often attractive and enticing in that they offer a larger amount of money up front, rather than collecting the funds at a set rate every two weeks over a longer period of time.

Any offer to commute the medical expense or disability/ wage part of an injured worker’s claim should be thoroughly reviewed so that the risk to the injured worker is minimized. At the very least, a consultation with a lawyer that specializes in Workers’ Compensation law should take place so that a proper risk analysis can be made. As a general rule, however, I never recommend commutation of medical expenses to anyone who does not have steady and reliable health insurance. This way, if any unforeseen conditions related to the work injury develop later on down the road, there is not as much fear that the injured worker will be unable to receive the medical treatment that they need. Likewise, I never recommend commutation of disability or wage benefits unless my client and I have a good idea of how long their injury is expected to keep them out of work, and whether or not they have a job to which they can return.

Once a decision has been made to commute either the medical expenses or the disability/wage benefits, combining that with a commutation for the scarring and disfigurement or the permanent impairment benefits can increase the injured worker’s lump sum payments, without increasing the risk to the injured worker by very much. That is because the scarring and disfigurement and the permanent impairment benefits are almost always lump sum payments anyway, so the values of these claims usually remains at a set amount. The one thing that has to be done prior to commuting the permanent impairment benefits, however, is the injured worker has a proper evaluation done by their doctor, and the doctor must tell them what their percentage of impairment is to the injured part of their body. Then, that percentage can be plugged into a calculation and a good estimate can be made of the settlement value for this lump sum benefit payment. Injured workers should never settle their permanent impairment without this evaluation by their own doctor- not their employer’s doctor.

Commutations of Workers’ Compensation benefits can be tricky to settle, and a consultation with a lawyer who specializes in this area will go a long way in helping you figure out whether your risk of settling your claim now is worth the reward of the lump sum payment. All of the lawyers in my firm, including myself, offer free consultations for work injuries. If you are presented with an offer to commute or settle any part of your work injury claim, the best thing you can do is have the offer evaluated by an attorney who fights for the rights of injured workers. The consultations are free, and the insight into your claim could be invaluable to your future health and benefits.

It’s easy to get caught up in the magic of holidays in Delaware. Everyone seems to be in a better mood, and all of the hustle and bustle – including shopping, parties, and visiting with loved ones – makes the cold weather a little easier to bear.

Of course, making merry has its price, as travel can be especially dangerous during this time of year.

Whether you are traveling locally or planning a trip to visit friends or family out of state, it’s important to take some extra precautions when driving during the holiday season. To best avoid unpleasant situations like collisions, theft or more, follow these safety suggestions:

Perform routine maintenance. One of the easiest ways to avoid car mishaps is to drive a safe vehicle. Check and rotate your tires, get a tune-up and have your oil changed regularly, at least every six months. Keeping up with these tasks ensures that your vehicle will be in top driving condition for Delaware’s often-treacherous holiday weather.

Prepare for inclement weather. Due to the unpredictability of the East Coast’s weather conditions, it’s always a good idea to keep an emergency kit in your vehicle. Emergency kits include items that can help signal others in times of distress, make minor repairs, or help keep you protected from excessive temperatures while stalled. These kits can be purchased for as little as $30, or you can make your own. Some items that you might want to include are blankets, water, road flares and tools. For more ideas on what to include in your vehicle emergency kit, speak to your auto insurance agent or visit www.redcross.org

Drive defensively. Just as the old adage goes, sometimes the best offense is a good defense. The lack of a sales tax draws more people into Delaware during the holiday season, which means the chances for collisions increase. When driving, be on the lookout for erratic drivers, slippery roads, snowdrifts and other unusual conditions. Never drive at speeds that would prevent you from taking necessary corrective actions, particularly in the evening when hazards are more difficult to see. Also, keep your eyes on the road, as you never know what other drivers have had too much eggnog.

Don’t leave valuables in the car. When you travel, there’s a good chance that you’ll leave your vehicle unattended in places with which you’re unfamiliar. In order to avoid holiday breakins, don’t leave valuables in your car, especially in clear view of anyone who walks by. Many criminals take advantage of holiday shoppers’ generosity, and when your new purchases are visible, they make for a tempting target. If you must leave items in the car, opt to put them in the trunk, away from prying eyes.

Give a copy of your itinerary to a friend. Whether you are headed out to the mall, a party or a relative’s house, let someone know where you are going and how you intend to get there. In the event that you are in an accident, stranded or are incapacitated, your contact will know your intended route and be able to pass relevant information along to the authorities.

If you practice these safety suggestions and are still the unfortunate victim of an automobile accident this holiday season, don’t burden your holidays with the worry of how you’re going to handle the details. Instead, contact our Personal Injury Attorneys who, together with their reliable staff, will guide you through the process.

Susan D’Alonzo Ament is a partner with Morris James LLP and has practiced for 28 years representing personal injury victims. Over the years, Mrs. Ament has found that some women don’t understand the crucial need to have adequate automobile insurance coverage in the event of a serious accident. Susan Ament educates women on these needs every day in her practice and in seminars that she presents throughout the year.

Willette, LMT & NCTM

Massage, it’s what your body kneads to feel so relaxed at “S.E.W. Relaxed”.

Sarah E. Willette is a Licensed Massage Therapist, she is Nationally Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage, and has her own business called “S.E.W. Relaxed”. She is certified in several different modalities but her favorite one is Mu-Xing Massage which Sarah studied under Karin Hampton and Susan Hanna who developed Mu-Xing Therapy Massage here in North Wilmington.

Mu-Xing Therapy uses heated bamboo and rosewood tools varying in special shapes and sizes depending on the area of the body they are being used on. For instance, the warmth of the Embracing Spine tool allows the Massage Therapist to work the muscles that are along the spine; the affect of the warmed Half Moons, which fit perfectly into the Massage Therapist’s hands, allows the Therapist to work deeper into the muscles all over the body.

The theory behind this modality is twofold: The warmth of the instruments creates a deep sense of overall relaxation, which ultimately enables the Massage Therapist to work deeper into the client’s muscles and tissues. In addition using these tools will save the Massage Therapist’s hands, using less exertion and reduces fatigue, which in the long run, can help to ensure a longer career for the Massage Therapist.

Bamboo comes from a living stalk and Rosewood is a natural hardwood; wood symbolizes life and energy. Mu means wood and Xing means element, in Mu-Xing we bring the wood element to our clients massage, enhancing one’s connection to Mother Earth. Our bodies have their own energy known as “chi” which becomes depleted from stress, insomnia, and tension, stimulating the muscles and tissues helps the body regain its strength and balance. I believe using Mu-Xing Therapy is more beneficial in stimulating one’s chi than hot stones which are a non-living mineral; not to mention that the heated wooden tools on one’s skin feel exceptionally relaxing and calming.

With the holidays nearing and Valentine’s Day around the corner, be sure to ask Sarah about gift certificates for massage therapy sessions; they make excellent gifts and are appreciated by everyone. Purchase a gift certificate during the months of December &/or January, mention this article, and you will receive $10 off each one-hour massage session you buy.

To schedule a Mu-Xing appointment with Sarah, contact her at 302.650.0763. Visit her website at www.sewrelaxed.com. If you would like to learn about Mu-Xing courses, please visit Karin and Susan’s website at www.mu-xing.com.

The holiday season is here! Whether you’re looking for something far different from the icy, cold weather or just have an inkling for a fulfilling alternative to the holiday routine, Christmas and New Year’s in the Caribbean offer a distinctively different experience we warmly welcome.

Cruising the Caribbean or staying at a Caribbean resort during the holidays is one of the most popular times of the year.

Timing – the sooner the better – Historically, vacationers were only able to get great deals and values when booking very early in advance. However, premium accommodations such as balcony or window cabins on cruises and family size suites at resorts are reserved on a first come, first serve basis.

Flights – Often expensive and overbooked this time of year, consider the cruise line’s flight offer and reserve as soon as possible. For Resorts, leave from the nearest airport to your hometown. This will save on drive time and money.

Here are a few specials for you to consider:

Testimonials:

With all our traveling together, my husband and I have never used a travel agency. Preparing to plan our honeymoon, together we decided to use a travel agency because it was for a special occasion. We used Simpson Travel which was referred to us by our parents. It was the best decision we made! Our agent was Crystal, and we were taken care of extremely well. All of the location options she recommended to us made it hard to decide. Finally we decided on the resort, Royal in Cancun. It was AMAZING! The staff was magnificent and made us feel like royalty. We are looking forward to using Simpson Travel again for future travel. ~ Rachel & Jason

Crystal, I never really thanked you for arranging everything for us. I know I can go online and do it myself but I’m not the professional and would worry constantly about making an error. It’s nicer to have somebody who knows what they’re doing. Thanks so much. ~ Joyce N
