pip Linda Bellin jfm16

Linda Bellin

Every woman dreams of having her own shop, and hardworking, energetic Linda Bellin is no exception. From her start working at (and helping select gift items for) her sister’s farm stand (the famous Filasky’s Produce in Middletown); Linda learned both retail and the importance of taking good care of loyal customers. Her travels in Europe inspired a lifelong love of elegant design.

Linda is no stranger to a drill gun and paintbrush. She loves to find, repair and refinish to-die-for antiques, including enormous gilt mirrors, vintage doors and ornate display tables. Linda’s first shop, Tattered Treasures in Chesapeake City, featured beautiful classical antiques and architectural salvage with French or Italian flair, gift items and jewelry.

That shop gave way to the first CHICK’S, a full-fledged women’s designer apparel shop, always one of the most popular businesses in beautiful Chesapeake City. One step inside and you’ll feel the European flair for great design. CHICK’S uses the coolest display pieces you’ll ever see, from the baby grand piano at the center of the store to creative repurposed display pieces worthy of their own Pinterest page!

As Linda says, “Come and ‘CHICK’ us out . . . and then have everyone else ‘CHECK’ you out!” You can keep CHICK’S as your personal style secret, or share it with your friends.

Linda, whose faith in ‘putting God first’ inspires all of her life and work, lives in Maryland with her husband Jim and daughter Alexandra. Their son Dennis and his wife Danielle care for their beloved grandchildren Zachary and Zoe.

I enjoy organizing group trips to Broadway/Musical shows followed by dinner, I arrange group cruises, land vacations, weekend get-a-ways and full-filled day trips.

As a business owner I wear many hats; business manager, sales, marketing, accounting, and record keeping. pip J Christian jfm16 nc only

J Christian discovered his passion for the industry as a teenager in Queens, NY. The event that sparked this lifelong career came when as a young teenager his uncle invited him to experience the International Beauty Show at the Jacob Javitz Convention Center, NYC. From there he successfully graduated in 1977 from the Michael Anthony Cosmetology School of New York.

Early in his career, J Christian worked as an educator for various product companies, but wanting a much broader experience, and after meeting Michael O’Rourke of Sexy Hair, J Christian knew he wanted to work alongside one of the best in the business and eventually became an International Platform Artist and Master Educator for Sexy Hair.

pip Joanne Graves jfm16 nc only

Joanne Graves

Joanne Graves started her career in the spa industry as the only esthetician and massage therapist at a salon focused on nail services.  She saw a need for a day spa in the North Wilmington area and opened Sanctuary over a decade ago with a desire to nurture women (and men) and to create a place to relax, have fun and feel wonderful. Sanctuary was the first in the area to offer exclusive spa services, choosing not to offer hair salon services in an effort to remain true to the spa experience.

As a woman who loves a spa treatment herself, Joanne had encountered spas with an aura of pretentiousness, leaving her with a less than satisfactory experience. She created an atmosphere at her spa where everyone feels welcome on his or her visit. Sanctuary was created as a haven of relaxation where each guest that walks through the door is made to feel comfortable and is guaranteed to receive the finest services available.

Sanctuary Spa is genuinely ‘a hidden gem’ in North Wilmington. Located in Plaza III at 1847 Marsh Road, the classically elegant décor immediately draws you in to the atmosphere of a stress-free paradise.   She later added a stylish lounge to allow time for relaxation both before and after treatments. As a leader in the Spa industry of North Wilmington, Joanne is constantly focused on the improvements she can make to her business to ensure both its success, and her clients satisfaction.

Sanctuary is the day spa in North Wilmington for an unparalleled spa experience. Enjoy a relaxing Spa Pedicure or Classic Spa Facial, spend time unwinding in the lounge or pick up a unique gift in the spa boutique.  Joanne invites you to make Sanctuary Spa your own destination for relaxation and is excited to welcome new friends into her hidden oasis, right in your backyard.
