Make This Your Child’s Best School Year Ever!
The beginning of another school year is an exciting time for your child. It means a new backpack and school supplies, the latest fashion worn on the first day, and of course promises to study hard and make good grades this year.
To help your child follow through on those promises rule out these signs of trouble from the start of the school year. Waiting until the first report card, or hoping things will improve after the second marking period and parent-teacher conferences, could make it harder for your child to catch up.
• Anxiety over going to school
• Not bringing home assignments, or saying there was no homework given
• Working on homework, but it is neither complete nor accurate
• Low test grades
• The teacher is concerned about performance or behavior in the classroom
Any of these signs could indicate your child needs additional help in reaching their full academic potential.
At Huntington Learning Center, the caring staff will partner with you and your child to develop an individualized program based upon your child’s academic strengths and weaknesses. Once your child begins instruction with the certified teachers at the Huntington Learning Center, you will notice improvements in your child’s confidence and motivation.
Imagine the relief your child will feel having one-on-one coaching. Becoming a strong student will be within reach. Your child will be excited to learn! And as a parent you will learn how to easily work with your child to keep him/her on track.
What would this school year be like for your family without homework struggles or forgotten assignments? Imagine no more tears over report cards. “Good Afternoon, I have been asked to send a letter in regards to our experience. So here goes. It seems I spent my son’s entire school career fussing about his ability to read or the lack there of. The school put him in a few programs, but only under pressure from me. It never seemed to accomplish anything. I was told many excuses and pointed out he always got good grades. Because of no child left behind, each child is graded on their ability, which it seems my school set as low. I sought out tutors, but living in a rural area I was left with little choices. After much ado I was able to secure a senior college student from a local small community school. She gave it her best try but she just didn’t have the experience to get him where he needed to be.
Then my loving Mother-in-Law comes home one day and says, I had Andrew tested at Huntington. He is reading on the second grade level. The problem is he was starting fifth grade!!! The skeptic I am about anything on TV was just that skeptical!! We gave Huntington a try anyway. You never know until you try. A year investment of time, three days a week for two hours put our son on track and level. Not once in this entire time did he complain. He actually looked forward to going to Huntington.
I am AMAZED!! ELATED!! And mostly GRATEFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The end of Andrew’s six grade year found us CELEBRATING Andrew being inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. Please keep in mind ON GRADE LEVEL!!!!! Not based on his ability.
I can honestly say this was an investment in Andrew’s future. I can see him growing and succeeding in everything he does. We have formed a great bond with the staff and stop by just to say hi whenever we are in the area. They all share in each success with us. Did I mention I WAS a skeptic … NO MORE. I can honestly say it’s an investment worth making for your child. Sincerely,
~ The Miller Family
