These are the capabilities and qualities of spirit that Nouveau Medispa brings to each and every client. Nouveau Medispa’s Newark location has been open since 2005 and we recently celebrated our second location’s, Nouveau Medispa at Hockessin, one year anniversary.
A spa is a spa, right? No, not really. In addition to typical spa therapies like facials and massage, Nouveau Medispa employs medically trained personnel as well as prescriptive skin treatments and therapies under the guidance of board certified plastic surgeons, Dr.’s Lawrence Chang, Kyo Kim, and Joseph Thornton. If you are looking for a day of pampering and relaxation, you will most likely find what you need at a day spa. If you want skin care or an advanced level of results but still want to be pampered, you will find that at Nouveau Medispa. We provide facials, waxings, massage, laser and light therapies, micro-dermabrasions, peels, spray tanning, fillers, Botox, body detoxification, and much more. Our main focus is to provide superior education on skin health, wellness and anti-aging.

Christian Studio, an upscale salon located in Hockessin, DE. As an International Platform Artist and Master Educator for Sexy Hair Concepts, J. Christian travels here and abroad teaching other Stylists about hair fashion. He regularly teaches at the Institute of Courage, a hair academy established by Michael O’Rourke, founder of Sexy Hair Concepts located in the Topanga Canyon just outside Los Angeles as well as at the Paul Mitchell School in Delaware.

With nearly two decades of experience within the skincare industry, Irene Stuckey has recently joined the team of Nouveau Medispa. Practicing at both our Hockessin and Newark locations she combines both traditional aesthetic services with advanced technology procedures like light and laser treatments and chemical peels.
Irene began her career in New York City as a make-up artist and soon became fascinated with cosmetic ingredients and their structures. After moving from New York City to Denver , CO she further enhanced her education by working in cosmetic product development. In 2000, Irene returned to Delaware and shortly thereafter became a licensed Aesthetician.
In addition to her aesthetic practice she is a national educator for an international professional skincare company, A Natural Difference. She is a key note speaker throughout the country on ingredients and their ability to make a profound change within the skin cells. In her free time Irene loves to read, research, and spend time with her family.

Kristin McGuigan is the successful chef of one of the state’s staple upscale restaurants, The Back Burner, in Hockessin. She is passionate about her cooking and wants every customer to enjoy their dining experience. Kristin takes pride in her food; from the seasoning to the presentation, she strives for perfection and wants her staff to be just as passionate.
Kristin began her career in the hospitality industry at the age of fifteen. She was employed at the Hotel DuPont under Chef Tom Hannum. Kristin started in the comesary and worked her way up to dinner line cook. After three years with the company she entered the Culinary Arts program at Johnson & Wales in Rhode Island. After her time there she returned to the Hotel DuPont and continued building her career. She then decided that if she was going to fully understand the hospitality business she would have to work all aspects of it. Kristin took the next 4 years working as a bartender and front of the house manager at other local restaurants. Kristin then returned back to the kitchens and is now the Executive Chef and General Manager of the Back Burner, and could not be happier. She says she gets her inspiration and motivation from long talks with her mother every night after work.
When Kristin is not working she is spending time with her boyfriend Brandon, fixing up their new home they purchased this past year. Spending time with her family and friends is her favorite past time. Her favorite quote is, “Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning how to dance in the rain.”

Melissa Knauer was born and raised in Maryland and has a husband and two children. In her spare time she enjoys spending time at her Florida house with my family and friends. Melissa is currently writing a children’s book which she hopes to get published someday.
Melissa started working at Advanced Plastic Surgery Center in March of 2004 and joined the aesthetic team at Nouveau Medispa in April of last year. She was fortunate enough to work with three board-certified plastic surgeons in the practice, Dr.’s Chang, Kim and Thornton, where she gained a broad knowledge and understanding of cosmetic surgery and prescriptive level skin care as well as correcting the cellular damage that the sun and environmental factors can do to the skin. Melissa assisted the doctors daily with pre and post-op patient care and education.
Currently, Melissa is the resident Esthetician at Nouveau’s 2nd location inside the Hockessin Athletic Club, which is open to members and
non-members. This 2nd Nouveau Medispa location is celebrating their one year anniversary. Melissa prides herself in providing education to the client
and believes this is the key to excellent skin care. She also provides non-invasive skin care therapies including deep pore cleansings, peels,
micro-dermabrasions, facials, and anti-aging treatments. Melissa actively continues to further her education by participating in the latest skin care training offered by leading skin care companies.

Kathy is a Financial Advisor with Ameriprise Financial located in Wilmington, DE. She has over 13 years of experience helping her clients plan for their future. Shae Ryan was born and raised in Newark Delaware and attended K-12 Wilmington Christian School located in Hockessin Delaware. Shae is a single mother of a 13 year old and has a love and devotion To All things active. She has participated in many road and trail running events as well as triathlon events. Shae believes and lives the lifestyle of Mind Body and Soul Wellness! Namaste is her mantra.
Shae Ryan has been a licensed aesthetician since 2001 and has worked in the Delaware area as a licensed massage therapist and aesthetician since then. Shae Ryan joined the team, at Nouveau Medispa, in Spring of 2005 and has found her home. Her specialties include, but are not limited to, customizing a medical skin program for clients that includes prescriptive level skincare and then suggesting and implementing innovative effective medispa services that will help the client achieve their skincare goals. Shae likes to encourage a fun, relaxed atmosphere to facilitate and encourage client education and understanding which, she believes, leads to a more satisfying experience at Nouveau Medispa. Shae also strongly believes in the “trio” approach of Doctor, Nurse injector, aesthetician. This approach gives the client the most comprehensive care and ensures that we address all of the clients concerns. Shae is also certified in advanced lights and laser technology application allowing her to treat a wide variety of skin conditions safely and effectively. She is a member of the Society of Plastic Surgery Skin Care Specialists (SPSSCS).
