The National Association of Women Business Owners® (NAWBO) is looking for and looking out for YOU! It’s a Great Time to Get Involved!
By Karen Miller, President of NAWBO Delaware
NAWBO Delaware, A Sisterhood of Women In Business. Growing Together. Rising Together.
Do you want to be a part of an influential group of Women Business Owners (WBE’s) with the power of a national organization? Then, NAWBO is Your choice! The National Association of Women Business Owners gives you a voice in Delaware as well as Washington that can ultimately affect your ability to do business. In addition to the important focus of being a national organization and a voice for WBEs in Dover and Washington, NAWBO provides a sisterhood of like-minded women to share ideas, successes, skills, and contacts. NAWBO provides business opportunities, collaboration with other NAWBO chapters and women’s networking organizations, and leadership development and networking programs. Whether you are starting your business, growing your business or transitioning your business, we want you to be a part of NAWBO. We are stronger together in shaping the state’s and the nation’s business environment for women.
How to get involved? Join NAWBO. Come to one of our many programs offered throughout the year. Our annual Educational Day is always a huge success. Our Dover State House visit gives us an in-person opportunity to have our issues heard by the Dover legislature and Small Business Caucus. ONur “Women in Partnership” Networking event provides access to four women’s organizations for a fun, purely social networking opportunity. Our congressional visits give you the opportunity to speak directly with our Federal Representatives, and they listen!
By joining NAWBO you have access to a membership of 9,000 women business owners across the country and you’ll be recognized as such on your business website (a plus for businesses needing to find WBE’s for contracting)! I joined NAWBO Delaware as a new business owner (sole proprietor). While I was looking for the camaraderie of peers and colleagues, what I found was a sisterhood of like-minded women, a network of other NAWBO women to support my business needs (my Accountant and my Organizer), and collaborators for my business.
NAWBO DE is looking for leaders. Serving on one of our committees is a great way to get involved. Our board also has openings for the following positions: Marketing and Communications and President-Elect. We welcome your support!
