The Back Burner Restaurant

Tucked away at Hockessin Corner along with specialty shops and galleries you’ll find The Back Burner Restaurant, and The Back Burner To Go. A cozy place to enjoy lunch or dinner with friends in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. The Back Burner offers a delectable menu that showcases seasonal selections in American style cuisine, specializing in steak and seafood. As much as the locals have tried to keep it a secret, the word is out, so we don’t mind helping the good news spread even further.

backburner_interior_feb10For gourmet take-out, you have endless possibilities at Back Burner to Go. I actually discovered the café/store after a stay at the Inn at Montchanin Village. After devouring a deliciously unique cheese spread, with garlic, walnuts, chives & more, I had to know where I could purchase this delicacy. Ever since being informed that it was Better Cheddar, Back Burner to Go’s signature spread made from Vermont sharp cheddar cheese, I have been hooked on The Back Burner.

All of their spreads are made fresh in house from quality cheeses and fresh herbs.
Some of their most popular, in addition to Better Cheddar are:
•  Boursin
•  Lemon, Kalamata, and Feta
•  Sun-dried Tomato and Chèvre
•  Curry Dip
•  Bleu Cheese Spread
•  Bacon and Horseradish

To Go isn’t just for spreads, they offer café dining, gourmet to-go foods, groceries, cheese, coffee, gift baskets and catering.
You will be delighted in their selection of cheeses, domestic and imported.
