Computer aided design is changing the way we think about jewelry.  This state of the art technology allows customers to see their design from every angle before it is even made. Details can be seen on screen and in scale so you get exactly what you are looking for. Whether you want to remount an outdated ring, custom design your dream necklace, or have a totally unique engagement ring, creating it with CAD-CAM is the most accurate way to do it.

cattermole_band2_sqDesigning jewelry used to be a tedious and imprecise process. Traditional methods include hand-sketching the item then hand-carving a wax model for the customer to approve. If changes need to be made, the process starts over. With the addition of this advanced technology I can create the precise design that you are looking for in less time. Once you approve the 3-D design on the screen, the file can be sent to a machine that accurately carves a prototype out of wax. This wax will then be transformed into a quality, custom designed piece of fine jewelry.

cattermole_engagement2Matrix 3-D was created by Gemvision Corp. in Davenport Iowa, a company specializing in technology for the jewelry industry. I have made several trips to receive extensive training in Matrix 3-D. This technology and training, along side of my years of experience working the traditional methods, will advance the creativity and precision of all jewelry designs I create.

Born in 1975, John Cattermole graduated from University of Delaware in 1999 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts specializing in metals. John is now an independent designer working with both private and commercial clients in the Philadelphia area. As of 2007 he has begun using the cutting edge of jewelry design software and is plugged into the latest trends in the American market. He has exhibited and sold his artistic pieces in many places, and does his most work with customers looking for unique engagement ring designs. John’s client base is comprised, most often, of educated jewelry shoppers who appreciate his attention to service and after-care.

cattermole_necklace1Testimonials:
“John Cattermole’s craftsmanship is truly one of a kind. Basically, he made me a pair of cuff-links out of a turquoise stone and with an unmatched vision. The piece was very close to my heart – I had aturquoise stone that had belonged to my grandfather and I wanted to somehow make them into cuff-links for my brother as a gift for his wedding. John understood what the project meant and he took me through every step of the process; from the cutting of the rock, to a workable stone, to the design of the metal, and what I got was a one-of-a-kind piece of art that can never ever be duplicated. The beauty of the final product broke my heart with joy. Now I have a slew of new memories associated with that turquoise stone and my brother has a family heirloom that he can pass on to his children. And he did it all without breaking the budget I had to work with. Being able to give that gift to my brother made that Christmas the best one I’ve ever had.”              ~ Kevin Meehan, Philadelphia Pennsylvania

cattermole_band1“John Cattermole helped us create personalized, one-of-a-kind wedding rings that are as unique as the love and commitment that they have been made to symbolize.  He used his knowledge of jewelry, craftsmanship, and creative talents to morph the image we had in mind into a classy, durable ring that will last a lifetime!”     ~ Julia Kegelman, Wilmington Delaware

“John and I have worked together on a few jewelry projects and I can’t praise his work enough. I literally drew my wife’s engagement ring on a napkin, and John made it a reality. He’s easy to work with and has always fulfilled all of my visions (and my deadlines). Since working with John Cattermole, I have not set foot in a retail jewelry store and will never again.”           ~ Matthew Loeb
