Give Your Black a Color Blast!
Spring is finally here, and beautiful bright colors have come along with it! Almost on a daily basis, I hear the expression, “I’m tired of black”. Well, you’re not alone. My advice? Get in the zone…the “COLOR ZONE”, that is.
One of the best fashion moves that you can make right now is to incorporate bright yellow, hot pink, apple green, screaming fuchsia, in-your-face orange, very red, bright blue, awesome aqua, etc., into your wardrobe. But don’t stop there. Let’s make ‘black’ take a back seat to these colors for a while. Consider using a touch of black as an accent color, rather than the dominant color. And don’t even think about ruling out geometric shapes and bold blocks in these colors. Go ahead, empower yourself to ‘push the envelope’. I do
it often. Bright colors elevate mood.
Here are some of the colors that trend reports have identified as ‘hot’ and ‘must-haves’ for this spring/summer season. These colors are also all the rage in accessories, especially in big jewelry pieces, totes, handbags, (and even in shoes)…Take a look!
Although I am advocating ‘brights’, here are some alternatives for those of you who just cannot part with black. Accessorize with big, bold, colorful jewelry. And, here’s good news. Polka dots are in, and they look great with bright colors, especially red.
Dresses & Skirts:
A Word About Length:
While length is basically a matter of preference, I believe it is actually a little more than that. It can be a challenge. Why? Because making a decision regarding how short is too short
requires total honesty if you want to avoid embarrassing and disastrous results. So, a word of advice; be true to yourself. If there is something that you are just dying to wear, but you know that you cannot ‘work it’, as is, consider wearing a modified version. I would love the opportunity to assist you. There is something to be said for impeccable taste. It is a virtue.
