Every week we work with outstanding professional women, and with this issue we have decided to do our part in spotlighting some of these fascinating women. On the front cover are just a few of the many women that we have met, and on the inside you will find short profiles on each of these women. In the future months we will be doing more profiling of women from different walks of life.

Many people dream of a job where they do only what they love most. Susanne Faulkner has established a second career that allows her to do just that. Faulkner Sterling Design emerged from her love of beauty, gift for working with her hands, fabulous sense of style and never ending desire to create beautiful things.
Sue delights in helping women express their inner beauty through the high quality artisan jewelry she makes by hand. She creates an endless flow of unique pieces that help any woman to set herself apart. Sue searches the world for beautiful beads, new techniques and materials to delight women. She welcomes others with a passion for jewelry to her studio to explore new possibilities for their collections.
Teaching is a natural part of this former educator’s creative process. Many women enjoy the chance to create jewelry for themselves. Workshops meet regularly in both her Middletown, Delaware studio and the nearby “Gibby” Center for the Creative Arts. Sue loves to gather with small groups for a few hours of creativity. Sue is delighted by their joy as they leave wearing a beautiful piece of jewelry they made for themselves.

Kenna Ulbinsky-Yakal is a highly successful agent with Prudential Financial, located on Main Street in Newark, DE. Kenna has been with Prudential for over 2 years, in which time she has been delighted to be able to work with and assist many wonderful people in the area. Kenna takes the time to meet each client individually to learn more about them, and their wants and needs. She is an Ambassador for the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce, and is a board member of Wilmington Women in Business. She is also a member of the Delaware Business Women’s Network. Kenna and Brian are also both active members of the Cecil County chapter of Duck’s Unlimited. Kenna enjoys spending time with her family and friends, boating, fishing and crabbing with her husband, and especially loves to cook.

Carolyn Glazer-Hockstein, M.D. is a retina specialist at Eye Physicians and Surgeons in Wilmington Delaware. She joined the group in 2008 to expand the growing retina service. She cares for patients with retinal diseases including but not limited to age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vascular disease.
Dr. Glazer-Hockstein was born in Philadelphia and raised in Wynnewood, PA. She attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia where she graduated cum laude and was elected to the Hobart Armory Hare Medical Society and the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She stayed in the Philadelphia area to complete her residency at the Scheie Eye Institute, University of Pennsylvania where she was elected chief resident. She then completed a medical retina fellowship also at Scheie Eye Institute University of Pennsylvania. She currently serves on the board of the Delaware Academy of Ophthalmology. Her practice includes the most up to date diagnostic and treatment techniques of retinal diseases including laser therapies and injections.
Dr. Glazer-Hockstein currently resides in Wilmington with her husband Neil Hockstein, M.D. and her two children Leia who is six, and Aaron who is three. She enjoys the challenging combination of medical practice and caring for her family.

As the Medical Director for Donor and Third Party Services, Dr. Adrienne B. Neithardt, recently joined Drs. McGuirk, Feinberg and Kovalevsky at Reproductive Associates of Delaware. Dr. Neithardt is a board certified Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility (REI) specialist. She graduated Cum Laude from Georgetown University Medical School before moving to Chicago, IL where she completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology with a fellowship in Advanced Gynecologic surgery from Northwestern University. She then went on to fulfill a subspecialty fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the National Institutes of Health, in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Neithardt’s research has been published many times in peer-reviewed journals and she has also presented at national conferences.
Dr. Neithardt strives to give her patients the best possible medical care that encompasses each individual’s unique medical and personal situation. Her warm bedside manner and compassion fits in with the philosophy at Reproductive Associates of Delaware where the physicians all share the same commitments to their patients, to find the cause of their infertility and provide them with the best outcome possible.
Reproductive Associates of Delaware is an infertility treatment practice with offices in Newark (on the campus of Christiana Care Medical Center), Dover (Eden Hill Medical Center), and in Wilmington (on Silverside Road).

Dr. Linda Everett is board certified in Internal Medicine, and has owned and operated her solo practice since 2005. In 2007, she decided to focus on Bariatric Medicine so that she could more effectively treat the underlying cause of many of the illnesses she encountered as a General Internist. Dr. Everett’s goal is to excel in everything she does, and have a good time doing it. The rewards from helping people take control of their health by controlling their weight makes her job the best ever, in her opinion. If she could, she would do it for free. Dr. Everett loves to learn about new advances in the field of bariatric medicine so that she can remain on the cutting edge and continue to help her patients to the best of her ability. Owning and operating a medical weight loss practice has not only improved her skills as a physician, but has also propelled her to focus on customer service, marketing, technology and relationship building. Although it is difficult to wear so many hats, she admits that she enjoys the variety. Her biggest challenge is finding that balance between managing her business and having a fulfilling personal life. It seems that one always suffers for the other, but she is getting better at it!
When Dr. Everett is not practicing preventive medicine, she enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband, family and friends. She surrounds herself with positive people who support her, and she supports them. “I can’t say that I have any unique hobbies, but I get pleasure from just relaxing and being me,” says Dr. Everett. Travelling is one of her favorite things to do, especially to warm sunny beaches. No matter how fabulous the vacation, however, there is no place like home.

Betsy, wife, mom and co-founder/managing partner of “Pizza by Elizabeths” launched into the world of the self employed over 15 years ago. Since then she has successfully created a dynasty. Not only is she one of a select few independent restaurateurs to simply exist for more than a decade, Betsy’s vision has thrived.

In 2005 Maggie Lage charted a new path for her career by purchasing the Huntington Learning Center in Newark, Delaware. Her professional career began as a CPA, but changed to a stay at home mother in 1990 when her first son was born. Through her professional and volunteer pursuits Maggie has over twenty-five years experience as accountant, administrator, planner, scheduler, coordinator, motivator, teacher, counselor, negotiator, fundraiser, and leader.
Maggie Lage was drawn to the Huntington Learning Center because of the academic difficulties experienced by her children. Like many parents, Maggie had to find academic support for her children outside of the regular school setting. Huntington was a natural fit because they understand the impact that poor grades can have on an entire family. Maggie believes that academic skills are the stepping stones to success for students of all grade levels. By teaching these skills, students at Huntington achieve success that lasts a lifetime.
Maggie lives in Landenberg, Pennsylvania with her husband, two teenage sons, and Beauty, their miniature schnauzer. Maggie relaxes by reading, gardening, and spending time with her three nieces that live in Chadds Ford.
