What’s In Store for Fall?
I can’t believe I overhead a mom talking about back to school shopping yesterday! I looked at the calendar just to make sure, and sure enough, some schools do start back in just 5 weeks. Where did the summer go? Maybe mom was right when she said as you get older, the days seem to fly by and nights just seem to get longer and longer. Well, with that said, I better get down to the purpose of this article before I lose track of time again.
It seems that fall is just around the corner and the staff at Jewelry Diva Gifts is looking forward to unpacking our new fall lines. Our customers want to know what they will be seeing this fall in the boutiques and this is what I have been told by some of Delaware’s local designers.
After many seasons of bright prints and bold patterns, the best word they could come up with to describe the new fall season is purist. The lines are clean, the colors are almost classic. Dresses, full skirts, ruffled blouses, tailored jackets, high heeled shoes, ballerina flats, big jewelry, chunky knit sweaters, belts and purses that can go from the office to a night on the town.
Small pops of color in the form of jewelry, shoes and purses are being added to the most classic of color combinations. I have seen off white silk dresses layered with gray jackets and knit sweaters accented with silver jewelry, navy blue pants with a white ruffled blouse paired with a small red tote and flat navy peep toe shoes, a red straight skirt with a cream colored jacket and shell with a classic navy leather purse, a fitted caramel colored dress with an animal print heeled shoe and clutch, winter white crepe pants and a soft, graceful emerald colored ¾ length sleeve blouse with a gold metallic hobo purse, navy blue pinstripe pants with a khaki colored trench coat and a white tee underneath with an off white purse and blue flat shoes.
And what about that basic black dress that every women owns! Team it up with black patent leather heels and a red leather purse and you are on your way to a fabulous night on the town. But keep in mind you don’t have to spend a fortune on new clothes. You can find inexpensive clothes with a good cut that are made with wonderful fabrics for less than half of what some designer clothes go for. You just need to pay close attention to the cut of the article, the material it is make from and the price it is being sold at. That is what makes shopping such a special and fun sport for women. Most women have a trained eye for details and bargains. That is what makes retail therapy so special to us women.
